Dear family/whaanau of Bishop Denis Browne,

Belatedly I send my condolences and best wishes to you all at this sad time following the death of your beloved brother, uncle, mentor and friend.

I remember Bishop Denis with affection and much respect. For eleven years (1997-2007) I was the Director/General Manager of the
Inter-Church Trade and Industry Mission (ITIM) Waikato, trading as Workplace Support.

As the leader of the ecumenical Christian mission in the workplace locally I really appreciated the active interest Bishop Denis took in our work. If he couldn't attend our AGM, he would host me at the Diocesan Office and enjoyed being updated on developments and challenges in our work.

I felt both personally affirmed and supported by him (even though I was a Protestant ..haha) and strengthened by his genuine interest in and prayerful support of our mahi.

I did enjoy playing golf with him on one memorable occasion too.

" Well done good and faithful servant ". May you rest in peace and rise in glory.

Arohanui,
(Rev.) Lindsay Cumberpatch (retired)
