I wish to pass on my sad feelings at this time with sympathy to Denis's family. A trip to the dentist was an enjoyable time with a fun, clever practitioner. I have some dental work that Denis produced that is of great interest to the students at the Dunedin Dental School that I now attend.

Dear Richard and Louise,
I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Denis. I first met him in 1988 in London of all places, and enjoyed catching up with him at the forensic conferences and meetings over the decades. I found him dry and wise and enjoyed his company hugely.

Richard, David and families. I send my sympathy to you all on the sad loss of your loved Dad and Grandad. Denis was my first boss in my working life in Invercargill. He was wonderful to work with, I really enjoyed my time there. He was very respected in his various work roles. Loved his golf games back then. I can still remember quickly arranging a game for him when there was a cancellation. Condolences to you all.

Dear Richard, Louisa and family
Sorry to read that Dennis has died. He was my dentist in Invercargill and I can hear him saying: `Pippy, Pippy, Pippy´ as he shook his head and examined my teeth (I had such a sweet tooth!).
When I decided to study dentistry, I spent some time observing him working.
In later years I enjoyed catching up with him at our annual Forensic Society meetings.
Thinking of you at this sad time.
Pip

Denis was a great dentist and had a lovely manner, I'm now 56 but when I was a petrified young boy being dragged along to see him by my mum Denis's kind manner soon put me at ease I always remember that.

Dear Richard,
I was saddened to hear that your father had died.
Although I didn't know him well I recall fond memories of the Forensic Society meetings we attended in Wellington in the 80s. They were a welcome break from work and always most convivial occasions
My condolences for your loss.
