I first met Dee many years ago when she was working at her sister, Katherine McKay's, general practice in Queen Street. (Kathy has been my GP for more decades than I care to admit.) I then crossed paths with Dee again at the Elizabeth Knox Rest Home & Hospital where my mother resides. I did not know Dee at all, but I could see that she was a vibrant and clever woman who would have lived a most interesting life and must have been a pleasure to know. Dee was taken far too soon and I send my belated condolences to her family.

My heart felt sad to hear of Dee's passing. It was Dee's enthusiasm that introduced Te Awamutu Music Federation to our town and I have her to thank for her guidance and support when I first became treasurer. Now around forty years later, her legacy continues. I value our friendship over the years and appreciate our recent encounters after my return from overseas. Mike and I send our heartfelt condolences to Nina, James, Sara and their respective families. Our thoughts and love are with you all.

The members of Parish of St John the Evangelist, Royal Oak would like to extend condolences to Dee's family and to acknowledge the contribution she made to the life of the parish.
Dee held many positions within the parish and carried out her responsibilities knowing exactly where she was going and what needed to be done.
Perhaps the most significant contribution Dee made overall was her passion for working with young people both at Diocesan School and within the church.
It has become part of the St John's story to recall the way Dee would meet a youth group at McDonald's for breakfast which provided her the perfect opportunity to feed them spiritually.
God Bless Dee

I will miss Dee terribly, she made me feel so welcome when I started work at EKHH and we developed a wonderful friendship, I will miss her character, her sense of humor and wise words. It was a pleasure to care for her for the past 2 and a half years I had with her. The place feels so empty without her whizzing through the hallways in her chair full speed. She has left a huge gap in all of our hearts. Rest easy now Dee ❤

So sad to hear about Dee's passing. She had a huge influence on my life and I feel so lucky that she found me, employed me and gave me the amazing experiences I had working for her. She was always just HER and we loved that about her. She will leave a massive space in the world. RIP, Dee.
