Our thoughts are with Deans family at this time

This is a shock and tragic loss of a great and creative man..he designed a house I lived in and was a close friend of Brother David Lines..Our family is in shock of hearing about this news..We pray for his soul and everlasting peace...The Lines Family Levin,Wellington,Auckland

Such very sad news to hear. Dean was a really likeable and social guy who was very thoughtful. He was a great cook and was fun to spend time with. I know he really treasured his children.

In the short space of time I knew Dean he touched my soul and lighted a dormant part of me. It's one of those odd and rather cruel experiences where I feel blessed to have met him and would rather have shared this short space of time than to have never met him at all. Namaste Dean

We were deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic accident that has taken Dean's life so abruptly. Dean was a very involved father who we came to know through the friendship his boys shared with our son Liam. Reuben, Joshua and Zeta hold on to your treasured memories, our heart goes out to you and your Mum Tracey. Our condolences also to his loving parents and brother and sisters. We are disappointed we are not in New Zealand at this difficult time but please know that you are in our thoughts. Liam Price, Grant, Christine and Jack.

Warm, endearing and so thoughtful a man, a true original was Dean, a devoted family man, a guy with a huge heart and a delightfully quirky spirit, what a shocking shocking tragedy, one that will hurt many.

I only met Dean and the kids once at Boomerang Ski Club during one school holidays but I was struck by what a wonderful Dad he was and how much he enjoyed being with his kids. I hope those great memories will help during the sad times and hope to see the kids at the ski club again. Anna and Robert
