I met Dealla, `virtually´, from Glasgow, Scotland when I joined Orion Health where she was a fellow clinician. Her wise words to me in those first few months of a new job were, "stick with it, that´s all the advice I can give you right now ". I did, and had many years there after she left.
I found myself passing on those same words of advice to new people I encountered in my role. I never forgot Dealla´s words, or her name because it was unique to me, I´d never met anyone with that name before then, or since.
May the kindness of strangers words about Dealla bring you some comfort to life without her. Your loss is great, and great was the time she gave freely to others.

So sorry to hear of your heartbreaking loss. I knew Dealla and we were close during our nursing training and for a few years afterwards including doing a bit of travelling together. Unfortunately we drifted apart and haven´t been in touch for a few years. But still devastating news and condolences to Miriama, Pam, Denis, Kevin and family. Xx

Oh - wow, such a loss - Dealla was an amazing lady full of life and committed to all the things she did. My heart goes out to her family, especially her daughter whom i heard so much about while working with Dealla at both Orion and EROAD. Thank you Smith family for sharing her with us!

It was with disbelief and sadness that I received a call this morning with this terrible news. I first met Dealla many years ago, when we trained together. She was always vibrant, mischievous, and fun. Many years later, after going on separate paths, we reconnected and shared precious times when our daughters were young. Isy always loved "chicken in a bag" and Dealla's legendary mashed potatoes when we went for dinner. Her culinary and entertaining skills were second to none and were always eagerly anticipated and appreciated.
Even though we hadn't seen each other much in the last couple of years, she never forgot us - always remembering our birthdays and sending special messages. Those small messages meant more than she knew, and reflected her kindness, generosity of spirit, and the way she held people in her heart.
I admired her beautiful garden when driving past, often seeing Pam and Denis's car there and wondering how everyone was. I often thought of knocking on the door to say hi, but didn't want to intrude on family time.
Life got hectic last year with work, but I sincerely regret that I have left it too late to stop and do what is important. I'm so sorry for this, my wonderful friend. You were frequently in my thoughts, and now you will be remembered with deep affection, gratitude, and greatly missed.
Sending love to Miriama, Pam, Denis, Kevin, Pia, Leo, and Roman xx
