Dawn SUMMERS Obituary

SUMMERS, Dawn Esme. 13 October 1936 - 26 December 2023. Passed away on the 26th of December, 2023, at Kenwyn Care Facility, Te Aroha. Gone to be with the Lord, whom she loved, and served on the Mission Field, for many years. Special thanks to all staff at Kenwyn Care Facility. Loved eldest daughter of the late Hazel and Bill Summers. Elder sister of Valda Mehrtens, Hamilton, Alan and Delma Summers, Hokitika, Margaret Liddell, Morrinsville, Bev and Dave May of Morrinsville. Aunty, and Great Aunty to many. A service for Dawn, will be held at the Morrinsville Baptist Church, Moorehouse Street, Morrinsville. Saturday, 30th December, 2023 at 2pm. followed by burial at Piako Cemetery (Seales Road), Morrinsville. Afternoon tea will be served at the Morrinsville Baptist Church after the service and those who wish to attend the burial are welcome to do so. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to The Breast Cancer Foundation, N.Z. P.O.Box 99650, New Market, Auckland. 1149. All communications to S. Thinking especially of Valda and Margaret, at this sad time.
It's always hard to lose a family member, especially as one gets older, as we come to grips with "It is what it is "
Just terrible events are happening all over the world now, it makes one realize we are lucky to get to our ages!! (many don't)

Valda I hope you are doing O.K. I remember seeing you at the last Nurses Reunion, always such a caring person.
I was always the one remiss of sending cards, often never remembered events, But I've put a card in the post to you now, I really do feel for you.
Take care of yourself.

Margaret, Do hope you are doing O.K. think of you often when the Lachenalias are flowering.
I vaguely remember Dawn, way back in the 60's teaching us poor little 1st year Nurses, Obstsetrics !!! It was never my happy place Obstetrics, babies etc.!!!
Margaret take care, Dawn will be an empty space in your life, so Take care of You,.
