D.Barbara broome born McFarlane. Always known as Barbara and called Dawn because xhe was born as the dawn broke in Auckland. Mother E.Vera had been in late pregnancy throughout the journey from Suva Fiji, of the Matua ship on which she and father C.Hilton were passengers. Mother was quickly transfered to a small nursing home in Grafton gulley Auckland where the birthing took plzce. Seven dayx later parents, the new babe and children Noel and June began a coastal journey again to Thames where Aunt,n Nurse Emily Johnson awaited their arrival.
As her mortal remains are returned to the dust (molecules) from which they were made her soul and spirit were called up on a heavenly high she being "absent from the body and present with her Lord"

Sincere condolences to all the Whanau at this very difficult time xxx
My Mum the late Lillian Brown and I lived in the adjoining house in Glenbrook when I was a young girl, I have so may fond memories of living there from Nurse Broome (what I always knew her as) and Mr Broome looking after me whilst Mum worked nights at the Steel Mill to watching Mr Broome look after the Angora Rabbits he had and played classical music to!
We were so blessed to have been a part of their lives, I can still see her beautiful smile now!!
Rest in Love Nurse Broome
