David VENABLES Obituary

VENABLES, David Arthur. Aged 67 on 19 August 2016 at Hospice West Auckland after a 5 month battle with brain cancer. Very much loved husband of Joan and the late Maggie. Loved and cherished father of Susan and James, Sharon and Mark, loved and respected step dad to Leigh and Ross and Mike and Krys. Dearly loved grandpa to Chloe, Brody, Anna, Luka, Elissa, Maddy, Anika and Jamie (NZ) and loved grandad of Marsha, Jenna, Lucas, Ava and Ella (UK). Very loved brother of Diane and brother in law of the late Robert. A simple service to remember Dave will be held at home at 2pm, Monday 29 August at 48 School Road, Riverhead. Donations to Hospice West Auckland in lieu of bouquets but spring flowers from your garden for his casket would be appreciated. Will never be forgotten, will always be loved and missed so much. David...our beloved friend of nearly 40 years Words aren,t enough darling so here are quite a few to describe you ....
Kind,Generous,Articulate,Intelligent,Extremely Funny,Quick witted,Smiley .Grumpy !!!!tee hee ..Loving,Sparkly eyes,Non Judgemental always saw the best in people however did not suffer fools gladly !Full of laughter ..saw the funny side ..Giggly and a great great friend I remember when in Germany our bank account was empty and I had to go to the UK for major back surgery you never hesitated and gave me 300 marks to tied me over I have never forgotten that ..thank you from the bottom of my heart ..you were so kind to our children Dave ....Susan,s wedding its as if we had never been apart..Thank you for touching our lives darling ...you will never be away from our hearts Rick and I felt so blessed that you were in our lives along with Meg and now Joanie ..Darling..,, Rest In Peace you brave soldier ...We love You... Jo and Riccles......Thinking of you now as a bright and beautiful star...

My Husband, my friend..I will miss you so very much Dave. We had 15 years and I took it for granted there'd be at least 15 more but now I'm on my own and my life will be so empty without you to share it with. I'm so sad that this awful disease invaded your body and took you away after five short months. I will love you and miss you always. I truly hope there is more to life than our time here on earth and that you are reunited with loved ones and safe in their arms. RIP my lovely man.
