Our deepest condolences to the Velvin family. It is with great sadness that I just recently found out of his passing. Dr Dave had been our family doctor for over twenty years until my transfer to Australia in 2013. He was my doctor for the birth of my two girls Alex and Helena and watched them grow over the years. He was kind, thoughtful, friendly and funny and I'm grateful that we had him as our doctor. We will treasure our memories of him. May he Rest In Peace.

David was a special human being and an amazing doctor who I trusted for over 30 years with my health and wellbeing. He has been in our thoughts since we moved out of Wellington and it's with sadness that we now acknowledge his passing. David will be missed by many, there is no doubt - Burn Family, New Plymouth

Sue and family, I'm so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. He was my children's GP when they were little and there was nobody else I would trust more with their care. I was always so appreciative of his excellent medical care and enjoyed the many long chats we would have at the end of a consultation. As a new Mum, he always put me at ease and was incredibly kind and thoughtful. Rest in peace Dave.

Sue and Family, we were so sad to hear of Dave's passing. He was a lovely man and a wonderful GP to 4 generations of my family. My grandparents, Barbara and Jack Christie were extremely grateful for all the wonderful care Dave gave them, including some much appreciated home visits. The whole Bain family have benefited from his excellent experience and finally, my husband Mark and my daughters Laura and Rachel would like to add our condolences to the many. Dave was our wonderful GP and Sue, always a smiling face when on the reception desk. May he rest in peace.

19 years ago I visited Dr Dave with an odd left arm and a spot of breathlessness. I got home 14 days later - quad bypass completed. I was very lucky to have him as our family doctor. My daughter is well on her way to herself qualifying as a doctor, inspired in no small way by Dr Dave. Thanks Dave - RIP.

Dr Velvin--Dr Dave--delivered my son over 30 years ago. There was something deeply mystical and spiritual about the way he gently held my baby and placed him in my arms. A new Mum in the same delivery suite felt similarly. God has Dr Dave in his arms now. He was one of God's Healers.
