David VAN HOUTTE Obituary

VAN HOUTTE, David Francis. Passed away unexpectedly on 19th July, 2023. Dearly loved son of Mac and Jo. Dearly loved husband of Mel, loved and loving Dad of Lily and Holly. Loved brother of Tony and John. Loved son-in-law of Elaine and Rob Walker, and loved uncle of Jorja and Gibbson. A service for David will be held in the Grahamstown Chapel, 102 Kirkwood Street, Thames, on Tuesday 25th July at 11am, followed by private cremation.

My condolences to the family. Having grown up across the road from the van Houttes in Aberdeen Dr, I really enjoyed David's company and remember very much the fun I had going with him and friends to my first ever concert (U2). I am very sad to hear that Dave has passed away. I knew him for a for a few years as I was a caregiver, but actually we became very good mates. I will remember his black sense of humour the most, but also the deep philosophical conversations we had.. he was a deep thinker. I´m sure he will be glad he lives on in his daughters, that love will never die. Rest easy mate, you will be remembered.
