David James SHARP

David SHARP Obituary

SHARP, David James (Sharpie). Took the chequered flag for the final time, passing peacefully on July 19th, 2018, aged 69 years. A much loved friend and partner of Heather, father of Steve, Lauri and Jacquie, step-dad of Fi and Brad, Grandad of Kobe, Oskar and Shani, and brother of Lennox and Kate. You are now free to drive all the race tracks in the clouds - forever in our hearts, we will miss you. Many thanks to all the special people and caregivers who have cared for David over the last 15 years. A Memorial Service to Celebrate David's life will be held in Auckland at a later date with details to be confirmed. Messages can be sent to David's family, c/- PO Box 147658, Auckland 1144.

This is a sad day. Sharpie was one of the most influential people in my life although I suspect he never knew it. I learnt a lot from him during my youthful years and it put me in good stead for the rest of my life. He guided and mentored me and helped me get out of strife when I found myself in it. I really appreciate everything you did for me. Cheers to you Sharpie and thanks for all the fantastic memories.

I assisted in looking after David for approx 8odd years we had lots of fun and laughter many stories untill he became to I'll REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND. Some of the stories I still chuckle over, JOHN FOWKE @AGE CONCERN CANTERBURY.
