David PAPA Obituary

Papa, David. Passed away peacefully on Monday 13th October in Auckland, surrounded by family, aged 80 years. Dearly loved husband of Nellie. Much loved father of Simon and Jane. Father-in-law of Emi. Brother of Dennis and of the late Nick. Treasured granddad of Ben, Zoe and Marine. Much loved son of Mary and the late Mate. The funeral service for David will be held on Friday 17th October at 10.00am at Morrisons, 220 Universal Drive, Henderson, followed by interment in Kumeu Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff at Keith Park Village, Waitakere Hospital and CHT Beachhaven for the loving care of David. Always remembered with love. Pocivao u miru.

Dad was a beautiful person, he had a heart of gold and adored mum. He had a gentle, almost fragile persona at times. He was the apple of my eye, and I loved spending time with him. He always had a cheeky smile and his eyes sparkled whenever he was with the grandkids, Ben, Zoe and Marine. I will miss you Dad more than I know.

I first met David at St Paul's College Richmond Rd on 1956.
We formed an instant friendship through our Croatian ancestry.
I will remember David as a gentle, generous and honest man.
He will be sadly missed.
