We are deeply sadden by the news of Dave's passing.
He was a very valued member of the team at Michael Grant Motors for many years and it is easy to say he was loved by everyone.
He was one of the 'good guys'. He had an ability to defuse any situation and was a great calming influence.
He served the community as a whole with his work in victim support and was a member of the Vintage Car Club and Manawatu Car Club committees.
No problem was ever too big for Dave. You could always seek advice and he would give a sympathetic ear.
He will truly be missed by many.
From the team (past and present) of Michael Grant Motors.

I was a school friend from about 1952 and now a life long friend...Enjoyed his company and later marriage to Claire in a classical Wellington church followed by a memorable dinner with a traditional Klemmzer musical ensemble... David and Claire lives took them from Wellington to Auckland living in Remuera, Kohimarama, Onehunga Herne Bay, then to Palmerston North, and finally Waimate a lovely quiet country town... David could be seen driving to the town centre in his Ford model T sedan.
He lovingly tended Claire when quite unwell, recovered. He loved his two sons, daughter and grandchildren.
He had a huge heart and was well loved by his dear sisters and known and respected by many in the motorcar trade.
He shall be well remembered.

David Bolton was manager of Town and Country Cars Auckland when he employed me as a junior salesman in 1965. I learnt so much from him and he made work fun and exciting with his knowledge and sense of humour. We kept in touch over the years, I was amazed at how he remembered details about events and the Fiat 125T which he and Peter Hughes developed.
Rest in peace Dave we will miss you, but your memory will stay forever.
Deepest sympathy to Claire and family.
Kerry
