David McGREGOR Obituary

McGREGOR, David. Died 22nd March 2025 at Auckland Hospital, from surgery complications. David fought a hard battle to the end, remaining pragmatic (and mildly sarcastic) to the last breath. Loved son of Darcy and Irene McGregor (both deceased) of Invercargill. The humorous stalwart of the Hugh Wright buying office shall be greatly missed by all his surviving family, friends, colleagues and CR's. A memorial service will be held in both Auckland and Invercargill in the coming weeks, we will update everyone.

A legend at Hugh Wrights who had a sense of Humour which you either loved of loathed.
Very upfront in his opinions which made him the Character that he was as a Buyer, when I worked at HW from late 1978 to 1985 and he visited the branch at Henderson I looked forward to his words of wisdom along with a few laughs.
Will be sadly missed at Hugh Wright Luncheon reunions. R.I.P David.
