Dear Emma,I was so shocked to here of Dave's passing. Dave was a big part of my life when I was young and was a defining person who made me who I am today. I feel his loss deeply and feel like a part of me has gone. Please know that my heart is with you today and that I'm praying for you and Jada. All my Love,Chris McConnell

My thoughts go out to David's loved ones, family and friends. I grew up with David in Browns Bay and we lived on the same street. I remember playing in tree houses and hanging out with David and Emma in their back garden or out In our neighbourhood. . We all followed on through schools to our final years at Long Bay College. I last saw David with friends, Christine and Kim, a few years ago on a visit home to NZ and we had a laugh reminiscing. Rest in peace David, you are a beautiful soul.

Dave was very much loved by so many people on waiheke. He was known for his warm generous creative spirit and a very good artistic landscaper. His sudden death has shocked so many who knew him. Im sad i never got to visit him in opara road which is so close to my mothers place and my ancestral pa. I can only imagine that the hokianga community would have embraced him and now they will be embracing his daughter. Arohanui amanda
