To dear Jill, Craig, Sharon, Donna and family ... I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Dave. I too have fond memories of our time living up in Malaysia when we were all kids in the 70's. Our families had so much fun growing up together and it was a magical childhood. Dave I remember always had a glint in his eye and was one of the good guys in life. It's lovely that our parents have all still kept in touch over the years since. Hold tight to the memories of a great man. Love Maree Millar (nee Trembath) xx

Dear Jill, Sharon, Craig, Donna and family

I am so sad to know of David´s passing.

Our times together in Kuala Terengganu when you were a young family and a treasured part of Seraya School have always remained very special for me.

It was your lovely, smiley, cheeky Dad who brought you children to school in the mornings - unforgettably including the day when a large scorpion ( safely in a plastic bag!) shot across the school room as his contribution to our `nature table´ and frightening the living daylights out of your teacher!

The family times we shared through the school during your Malaysia years Jill and later visiting you & David at home in NZ, seeing the family thrive were a joy and privilege for Leng Guan and me.

So wonderful memories of our lovely, caring and close Laing family.

Holding you now in my thoughts and prayers.Take care of yourselves.
With love and respect
Anne Lee

To dear Jill, and family

I am so sorry to hear that we have lost your beloved David. David was very highly respected by all who knew him. Back in the 70's he did an outstanding job working on a NZ Govt. Forestry Aid Project in Kuala Trengannu, Malaysia. ("Pusat Latihan Membalak.") During our posting in Malaysia our family lives were deeply entwined and at times challenging, but despite it all, we did have lots of fun. You will have lovely memories of special times you all have shared throughout the years, which will help you get through this grim phase of grief.
Know, you are in our thoughts and prayers,
and my family join me in sending lots of love during this very sad and difficult time.

Jill and David were my landlords for awhile and I inherited my cat Kitty from them. David was a great landlord so easy going and we shared lots of laughs. Deepest sympathy to the family. RIP David.

I regret that I am unable to attend this service, but please accept my sincere condolences. Dave and family shared a forestry project in Malaysia with me in the early '70's, and we have managed to maintain contact ever since. RIP Dave.
