David IRWIN Obituary

IRWIN, David Ernest September 10, 1938 - September 25, 2018 - Retired Platoon Chief, City of York Fire Department - 35 years of service Peacefully, with his family by his side, on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at the Trillium Health Centre - Mississauga, at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Patricia of Toronto. Son of the late Bruce and Ethel Irwin. Dear father of Craig (Dawn) and Kelly Gordon (Chris). Loving grandfather of Bailey, Kyle and Christy. Brother of Robert (Jorid) of Woodbridge and June Longhurst of Napanee, and brother-in-law of Marlene Hayes (Ken) of Wasaga Beach. Dave loved his career and was quoted on his retirement, "I consider myself fortunate in having chosen a career in fire service." A special thanks to all his friends and family, especially Art Zan for 78 years of friendship. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
