David GAPES Obituary
GAPES, David John ONZM. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday 8 March 2024 following a long and courageous battle. Born in 1942 in Wellington, and later relocating to Auckland when co-founding Radio Hauraki, David lived a full and colourful life. Having inspired and touched many people's lives along his journey, he will be fondly remembered by many. David is deeply missed by Ingrid, Wendy, his sons, sisters, and their families, as well as many dear friends. A special thanks to Mercy Hospice and St John Ambulance for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations to these charities would be greatly appreciated. To honour David's wishes, there will be a small private gathering to celebrate his life.
