Spent today thinking about an old school mate, my age, who died in his sleep, somewhat suddenly and unexpectedly.
One of those wild men full of life and lived bigger than life at times.
Fearless he was noted as being several times.
A reliable diviner for bigger adventures to be found always by his lead and seeker of greater shenanigans, mirth, mischievously cheeky, mostly harmless and irreverent misdemeanor.
I thought and felt again how that infectiously cheeky smile and eyes of deep insight and excitement glowed and lit that fire of excitement within me whenever our gaze opened those doors.
It was an honour to share stories of him, his life achievements and his family bonds with his large family gathered today to get through the process of letting him go with respect and love and fondness and sadness.
But there was little sadness, when calculating this man got soooo much out of lifes offerings on the outer edges of discovery where few dare to run so free, wild and bold.
Love you David Frear.
To me, you are a legend and have dented the universe in your form.

Dave was always a happy, fun and funny guy when I knew him at school (Pakuranga College) Always had that glint in his eye. Very sorry to hear the news. Sending condolences to his family and friends. Kate Watkins (Just)
