David DOWNIE Obituary

DOWNIE, David Owen (Dave). Passed away peacefully on 1 June, aged 85. Beloved husband and soulmate of Dee. Much loved father, step father and father-in-law of Mark, Robert and Kim, Scott and Michelle, Alison and Paul and Ian. Adored Grandad of Jessica, Quin, Kaia, Jayden, Abigail, Katie, Rachel and Lauren. The funeral will be held at Howick Funeral Home, 35 Wellington Street, Howick on Friday 7th June at 12 noon. The Service will be live-streamed. Contact family at [email protected] for streaming link. In lieu of flowers, donations to Totara Hospice would be appreciated.

Dave was a fellow Lions Club Member for over 30 years. Dave was a doer. Always first there when projects had to be done. He served his community with quiet distinction with no thought of reward.
He was a Melvin Jones Fellow recipient. The highest honour Lions can bestow.
He will be missed.
