David COLEY Obituary

COLEY, David John (David). Born May 17, 1948. On 21 August 2021 David travelled his last flight to his next life, hope it was first class all the way darling. Loved only child of the late Lorraine and John Coley. David dedicated 56 years to the travel industry which he loved, and where he was highly regarded by all. Treasured and dearly loved husband of Kathy (Frog). Loved stepdad to Chris Ireland and Dina Whatarau, special grandad to Andrew, Karen and Jack Wareham and Emma (Melbourne). Adored stepfather (Pa) to Joe and Kalli Murray, treasured grandad of Tahlia, Maddison and Jayden (JJ). Thank you for all you gave us, the happy times we shared, the love and all you did for us, the way you always cared. You lived your life for those you loved, and those you love remember. Fondly remembered by his Hughes clan and his Davey family and our special friends. As per David's wishes and Covid restrictions, no funeral service will be held. Our eternal thanks to the 'Earth Angels' at Totara Hospice, especially Michael for their dedication in making David's final journey comfortable. Donations in his memory can be made to Totara Hospice. David - I will miss your "Bula Betty", which was your greeting everytime we made contact. You have been a dear friend for so long; you were like another brother to be. David was special to us through an untwined family connection with Kathy. He prepared a memorable family trip/cruise in 2016 which lead to being his preferred couple in real estate. David was such a kind, generous and amazing man.
He was my travel mentor, my inspiration when I first met him at 19 and only 18 months in travel, his wealth of knowledge was second to none and I always listened in awe of where you both had travelled and his travel advice and expertise.
