Grant has been an amazing trojan for the building sector in Canterbury and beyond. Helping us through the Canterbury earthquakes, Mosque attack, Covid lockdowns and even the building material supply crisis. He considered everyone's safety and wellbeing in his stride. Serious one minute and humorous when ever possible, a gentleman, a leader who many followed with both addiction and admiration. His dedication to be a "good bugger" is forever etched in me and our sector.

Very sad to hear of Grants passing.Having worked under him for 15 years at Placemakers,I was always impressed with his energy and passion to whatever he put his mind to.He was a leader and was always driven to excellence,which manifested into many awards the branch achieved.His foresight would be very much missed and I wish his family my sincerest condolences during this sad time.Mike V

I'm deeply saddened to learn about Grant's passing. Many years ago, I had the privilege of working with him on a home project for the Close family. Grant's leadership, energy, positivity, and patience left a lasting impression on me. My thoughts and deepest condolences are with the Close family during this difficult time. May Grant rest in peace.

Grant was the treasured Son of David Close (deceased) and June Close and much loved brother of Mark and Felicity Close. Rest well Grant in the loving arms of your Lord - forever in our hearts.
