Dave was one of the good guys - maybe the best of our little group. I'll never forget him struggling down the Havelock River, about 20km, heavy pack, feet sloshing around in boots full of blood, not a word of complaint. He was 18 years old. His quiet manner belied an incredible stoicism.Take it easy Davey,

BURNS, David. A wonderful, funny, intelligent person we had the privilege to know and have as a friend . We have enjoyed meals together planned and prepared with care by Don and David your addition of Craft beer was always welcomed . Thanks for sharing the meal on the last day of 2017 , we just did not expect it to be our last together . We felt sure we would have many more time to share food, drink and laughter. To Carmen, Vinny and Katherine , it has been a tough few years with David's health but you have been amazing . We will miss David immensely and our thoughts are with you all at this difficult time and for what lies ahead Rachel Donegan and Don Mackay
