I had the privilege of knowing David for over 25 years through Mike.
This is how I saw David. He was a good, kind soul, never having to be the center of attention, but he thoroughly enjoyed being with people and moreso being with family. He was soft spoken, always saw the goodness in people. No matter who he was with, David would just enjoy the conversations taking place, being forever present in the moment, always with a huge grin on his face. On our various trips to New Zealand, he would really enjoy being with Gillian and Grayson, playing on the beach, building dribble castles in the sand, taking every moment in. Such patience he had. Anytime getting together with him, being here in Canada or the UK, he just always wanted to be around family and doing whatever was planned just to be with us, and always came with a positive attitude and smile. It seemed to energize him to see his family.
These traits David had are unique, and will be so missed. I'm sorry to you all for your loss. He is is Heaven, but it doesn't remove the fact that your heart hurts for the fact that he is gone. I do believe our loved ones are just a breathe away, and although we don't get answers back, we can still look up to the skies and talk to them and they will hear our prayers, and that smile will appear on David's face!
I send hugs to you all. As you remember him and your own special moments, may the smile he is having in Heaven in hearing you shine down on your face and know you are still every connected. Forever remembered and loved, never forgotten.
Love Judy
