David AMBLER Obituary

AMBLER, David John. Kua hinga he totara o te wao nui a Tane, he kaiwhakawa mo te Kooti Whenua Maori. He kaitiaki, he ngakau mahaki mo te iwi Maori me tona hahi hoki. Judge David (Rawiri) Ambler passed away Saturday 11 November 2017, surrounded by his loving whanau. Loved son of Roy Wilkinson & Mavis Ambler (both deceased), Waimamaku; brother to Paul and Susannah of Waimamaku and Ruth and Alan of Bracknell England; uncle to their children, Rowland, Johanna & Andrew; Jazmine, Izaak and mokopuna Alex; adored husband of Te Tai; Pa of Hera, Hamahona, Mihireweti and Te Whareiti; Koko to Ngapera and Elijah. Judge Ambler will lie in state at Moko Marae, Te Puke HIghway from Monday 13 November. The nehu is at 11am, Wednesday 15 November with the interment at Kenana Urupa. A memorial service will be held 6pm, Friday 15 November at the Central Baptist Church, Bank Street, Whangarei. Squire Funeral Services Kaikohe/Kawakawa

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there is a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

To the honourable Judge Ambler & His Whanau, always remembered for the Awesome work he did with the Waitangi Tribunal, and even having the privilege to go in on a powhiri with Judge Ambler as one of the Paepae speakers for the opening of the Laidlaw bible College in Manukau City.

This Great Totara Tree never to be forgotten, and great thanks to his dear Wife and children for giving all in NZ especially the Maori privilege to be involved with such a great man with the Maniapoto Iwi Treaty settlements .
