We are saddened to hear of the passing of Danny.
Our sincere condolences to the entire Lendich family and friends.
Danny lived life to the full, he was an exceptional hardworking man, always busy.
He was forever the perfectionist and pushed for what he wanted and how he wanted it with very specific instructions.
We will miss his random visits in his ute with the flashing light on top with the odd jobs or projects he was working on one of his race cars, in his workshop, on one of the trucks or excavators or one of the Wendys stores.
Instructions to the staff were `Danny knows what he wants, give him what he wants and he will be happy´.
We will miss him popping in for a cup of tea and a chat, he was so interesting to talk to.
We have the upmost respect and admiration for Danny who achieved so much in his lifetime.
His passion for Speedway, with so much success with his own cars in New Zealand, Australia and USA. His support for Western Springs Stadium was unwavering.
His passion for the Construction industry that started at such a young age, he was a leader in the industry and the beautifully prepared and maintained trucks are a credit to him in his strive for excellence. It was always a pleasure to see them on the road.
Bringing Wendys to New Zealand and building the business up to what it is today with incredibly high standards and excellent food.
He is also legendary for his support of other forms of sport including the Warriors.
Danny had a heart of gold always ready to help anyone
His generosity and support for others, his compassion was incredible making him a true friend to so many.
Danny will be sorely missed, Rest in Peace Danny

Rod and Danny were teenagers together in Massey. Later Rod became Danny's lawyer, and told me he was 'one of the smartest clients he had'. I recall seeing Danny's big muddy boots left beside the lift door when he visited Rod. He strolled into Rod's office in his socks. My condolences to you Diane, and all the family. Jenny Sturm

LENDICH Danny, Much loved youngest bother to Mary Lulic (Sydney) and Brother in law of Late Jack Lulic (Sydney) and beloved uncle to Peter and Ivan and late Kristine Lulic and along with, Millie, Vanessa, Michelle and Phillip and families (Sydney) we send our sincere condolences to Dianne, Danielle & Joanna and families for the loss of our New Zealand matriarch. Even though we lived in 2 countries our bond was strong. Danny and his brother late Victor Lendich were more than an uncles to the boys rather like brothers teaching Peter and Ivan the ways of the world. They were only even a phone call away. As for the bond between Mary & Danny it was strong, it was like no time ever pasted between calls. We are going to miss his unwavering love for his family. Danny was a man who believed in the value of hard work, driven by a deep love for those around him. Rest in peace Danny, Thank you for being rock we leaned on, the heart of our family, and the brother we all needed.

I recall Danny's kindness when we visited NZ with a midget race car in the mid 90's. He took great pride in showing us the Wendy's operation and we spent a New Years eve on his boat in the harbor. Both he and Victor made us feel like old friends. My condolences to the family and especially to Dianne, who made us feel welcome in the short time we were there.

When I first moved to Auckland with Gough Gough and Hamer in 1972, two of the first customers I met were Victor and Danny Lendich and oh boy what a first meeting with Danny. He let me know he was the customer and all I had to do for the rest of my time with Caterpillar and Goughs was to jump when he called. This was the relationship we developed with Cat and it wasn´t till about 30 years later in his office I gave him his pedigree and funny he enjoyed all that I said and he said "well we are almost even". I really did enjoy dealing with him and gave back to him as much as he gave me.
Rest In Peace Danny ,,,,,,,, till we meet again. Ardie Rankin
