Daniel VIDAL Obituary

VIDAL, Dr Daniel German. On 11 October 2020 Daniel died peacefully leaving us too soon after battling cancer. A beautiful mind, a free spirit, consummate teacher and mentor to his family and students, intellectual challenge to his peers. The family held an intimate service Friday 16 October. His wife Claudia and his children Matthew, Georgia and Stefan will miss him deeply. In lieu of flowers, donations to North Shore Hospice as a tribute to Daniel would be appreciated.

I had pleasure of joining your class in 2013 while I was at beginning of what I am going to do next after working in India. His commitment to lecture me despite the fact that I was difficult stubborn student, made me join one of the largest technology corporations in world. Coming all the way from Turkey and joining his class made me rediscover and re-evaluate my life and career. Learning his demise was saddening enough and I am also sadden not to say thank you one last time after redirecting my life after your lectures. I extend my condolences your family and wish god bless your soul.

Spoke to Professor in July about what my career prospects are. He was so humble and clear. I looked forward to his class and would be extremely pepped up just to listen to him. I can't believe he's gone. A beautiful heart, a passionate teacher, a genius! He truly is the definition of a teacher! May god bless your family.

I am deeply saddened to know and think that Professor Daniel Vidal is no more. He was an intelligent, kind and a very learned professor who genuinely had real world experiences and knowledge about his teachings. I was fortunate to have him as my MBA research supervisor and he actually helped show me a path for my career aspirations.
My thoughts and well-wishes for the Vidal family.
Thank you very much Sir...

Daniel will be sadly missed. He was a lecturer that has made a lasting impression, not only on my career but my life. He was a man with such a dry sense of humour and had such a passionate outlook to help businesses. A selfless individual who always made time for both past and present students always willing to share advice as well as a good story. A good man has been taken from us way too early.

You leave an amazing legacy Daniel - your guidance and teaching fostered critical thinking, a true gift to others. You helped nurture a growth mindset in your students, enabling them to change and shape their world and their organisations. I am one of those students. From the first hour of Daniel's lecture, I knew our class was in for a ride. He challenged our minds and at the same time made us feel he respected our intelligence. Only he can deliver course material in a way that gave us the capacity to cross over the concepts we learned in class productively to other courses.

Truly, being in his class makes for learning that can be carried over to real life.

He is already missed. I pray for all his family and friends, that we find comfort in the great memories that he left each one of us.
