From the odd family ocassion, Christines various campaigns and more latterley ANZAC Day (Mt. Eden) you were a character to be reckoned with, admired and loved by so many. We were priviledged to know you.

From the time we met Ted and Shirley over 30 years ago we have been so generously treated as part of the family. With Emma & Kara we shared fun times on the Island, been privileged to be invited to share happy milestones such as birthdays and anniversaries, and shared many dinners at the Papakura RSA. We have heard wonderful accounts of Teds full and adventurous life, WWII in Italy; developing his business; and the adentures from travels around the world; his interest in politics of the day and his solutions.
Thank you Ted, we will always remember happy times together, and especially the stories.

The name Lees is one that will be remembered in Papakura and districts for a long time and for many people it will be Ted Lees that immediately comes to mind. It was a pleasure, and always interesting and entertaining, to have had the opportunity to hear many of Ted's stories first hand. I offer heartfelt condolences to the family from both myself and the team at Papakura Museum.

One of the truly great characters of New Zealand has gone. Such fun - and a great family man. Never to be forgotten.

I knew of you before I knew you Ted such was your legend. It was a privilege to get to know you and I enjoyed your "short" visits or chats and still have your desk pad (one of many you supplied me with) in the centre of my desk. I have started a fresh page for you today. Sincere sympathy to the whole family.
