Danny..it has been a year..has it been a year, really? Some days it feels like yesterday, others it feels like a million years. I can only imagine how difficult this last year has been for your children, whom you loved more than life, your lovely lady, and your family. I hope they all know how many lives you touched, both near and far..we are all thinking of you on this day, as we do every day. I miss our chats, i miss being able to tell you about anything and listening to you when you needed it most..most of all i just miss you.

Dane & I formed a musical duo called 'The Nebulous K' shortly after meeting in Mangere Bridge just south of Auckland.
We busked around at various places but our main spot was at the 'Supa' in the Bridge. We shared many good jams/laughs and even landed a gig from our efforts there. It was a honour and a kick to play with Dane. He was very talented & adept and his knowledge of music ran deep & wide. He lived and breathed it.

At times it was frustrating trying to hook up as he lived on his own terms but that was part of his charm. Reflecting back I understand now he was teaching me something important - to be yourself... and to accept others as they are. He lived his life with passion and was devoted to his kids and partner. He touched many lives with his upbeat demeanour, his gentleness, his infectious smile & laugh and mischievous sense of humour. I feel privileged to have known him and to have played music with him. He was a kind soul and a mean muso - still is - just in a different form now no doubt drumming, jamming, singing and composing with some other mean musos

My heartfelt condolences to his kids, Nicolette, his whanau and loved ones.

Dane - I miss you Bro. Til next time we meet - Fly on my friend...

Kia ora!

Venger Prime (as most of his other friends called him) has been an embodiment of everything it took to be human: he was there for STRANGERS in their time of need, he connected people FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE, he raised the flag that has since stood tall and proud on behalf of EVERYONE he had touched.
It is still a battle to reel over the last few days, Dane, but we trust that with your COLORFUL personality (to say the least) you will guide us into a better acceptance and understanding of the pains of losing you -- one day at a time.
My family extends our deepest sympathies and condolences to everyone he left behind; please know that no matter the distance or time, we will be here for you just as Dane has always been there for us.
You lived an epic life, brother. You will live forever in our hearts and minds.

In all my life I never met a man more full of life, love, and happiness. He never let the small problems and darkness that fill our world brandish his light. He truly was a bright light in this world and it's a little less bright without him. He talked about his children with such happiness and hope and you could tell they were his greatest achievements. You will be greatly missed but never forgotten Auntie. We all love you and my hope is that you know that you've touched so many people's lives and that your legacy of love, laughter, and light will live on.

I, too, only knew him from facebook. He had such a way of making everyone his friend; he was there for anyone when they were down or needed a kind word or a laugh. Of course, he was just as often stirring things up. And we loved him for all of it.

I met him in a fb group he created called BLC. He was the most genuine, caring, and funniest person I have ever met. People such as he are very rare. I am honored and feel privileged to have been able to call him a friend, and my brotha from anotha motha. I have many fond memories from over the years, way too many laughs to share, and I will cherish them all. He was such a kind soul. Rest well my friend, you will be missed. My deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to his family, I know he loved you all much, and often spoke lovingly about you all. Take care, big hugs from this internet random to you all.

I met him through Facebook. And of the small silver that a social media site can offer of a person I could tell that he was one of a kind. One that this world will truly miss. For the moment of time that I knew him I'll remeber him forever.

We've never met in person but the time interacting with him on Facebook has made him a good friend.

He was not perfect, much like all of us. He had a potty mouth though, but he was a kind & loving person, he had manners and was a gentleman at heart.

He prefers honesty most of the time and was hard-working too (unless the lazy bug caught him and he wanted to just chill).

He loved music, playing his guitar and busking. He had a stubborn streak to him but he listens and can give great advice.

He was a down to earth person and loved the simple things too and shared many of his hobbies and likes such as Comics, Dinosaurs, Fishing and many other things he loved, with us.

He loved his kids, be it his own and his nephews and nieces.... his exuberance with many things and the ease of just chatting with him had made him many friends and made him 'family'.

It was great to have met you.... Rest In Peace Danny... Rest In Peace Venger Prime... Rest In Peace Sulla Felix.... Friend.... Brother... Uncle... Aunt...(inside joke) You are dearly missed by many who got to know you.

Met him through Facebook; a fellow comic and heavy metal fan. He always made everyone laugh and always brought a smile to my face whenever I spoke to him about whatever it is we'd chat about. He was loved and cherished by more people world wide than I think he ever realized. This one's coming all the way from Canada - Shine on you crazy diamond.

This comes from the Dilworth School community with our thoughts and prayers. This morning we had a moment of silence in our chapel service at the Senior Campus, remembering Dane and then praying for Danes family and friends. He is not forgotten by his Dilworth brothers nor by His loving Heavenly Father.
