Dame WINSTONE Obituary

Dame Dorothy Winstone was an inspirational woman who cared deeply about women's social issues. She was an honorary life member of YWCA Auckland and we remember her as a strong and committed woman. Our sympathy to her family. The Board Members, YWCA Auckland.

As a AGGS girl, I remember fondly gathering at the hall that bears her name for our assemblies and being inspired by Dame Winstone's continued generosity to the school. Rest in peace and condolences to her family.

Dame Dorothy. You will be held in our fondest memories from happy days at Lake Okareka with the Cunningham family. Deepest sympathies to the family but what a wonderful wife, mother, gran and a dear friend to us all. RIP

Dorothy was a loved and true friend of the late Ron and Bev Ravenhall and also much respected by their children Peter, Kath, Lyn, Jim and Pattye. We send our love and prayers to you all at this sad time and remember happier times at Wesley Methodist Mission Bay.

WINSTONE, Dame Dorothy CMB. A pupil at Auckland Girls' Grammar School from 1931 to 1935, Dame Dorothy has maintained a close association with our school and has been an inspiration to both students and staff. The presence of our beautiful hall, named in her honour, will ensure she will always be part of our school. Dame Dorothy will be affectionately remembered by us all. AGGS Staff and Students.
