Dear Cornelia, We met entirely by chance one day when my husband and I were walking in your neighbourhood and saw you struggling with a big bucket full of dirt. We lent a hand and that led to us getting to know each other. I knew the second I first entered your home that you were going to be an interesting person to get to know with lots of stories and experiences to share with me. And that you did. I enjoyed our conversations and how every time we went for a drive something bizarre would happen and we would burst out laughing. We both shared a love for reading and I was in awe of your book collection and the many languages they were in. Your travel tales were fascinating as was your life story. Both my husband and I will miss you and your lovely smile and how your eyes lit up when I or we visited. We pass on our condolences to your family. With Love, Julie and Stephen

My dear friend Corrie, I will miss you and not being able to visit you. To sit and chat with you while having a cup of tea together, talking about the time when we were students together at Auckland University studying Indonesian in the mid 1970's and the times we have shared over the years since then. Thank you for your friendship and the memories of happy times spent together. Often I admired the beautiful clothes that you sewed and the enjoyment you found creating such lovely garments. Also the beautiful knitted items you made. Your knowledge of languages, history, literature and the arts constantly amazed me. To Jorgen and Kate and all of the family, Corrie loved you all so much and she was so proud of you and what you were doing in your lives and she talked so fondly to me of her grandchildren. My love is with you and although I will not be able to be with you on Wednesday my thoughts will be with you. May you find strength and joy in the memories that you have of special times shared together over the years.

To Cornelia's family I wish to express my deepest condolences.I have known Cornelia for 4years and saw her weekly to do her gardens. We always had a coffee and she told me so many things about her upbringing and about Jürgen and Kate. Cornelia was very proud of you two and your achievements in life.I was very sad to hear of her passing. She will be at peace now and knowing that makes it a little bit easier to find closure.I will miss you, Cornelia.Love Silke
