Auntie Corrie's Eulogy by Tanya on 06.06.2015
2 weeks ago when I went to Aunty Corrie's to collect Anita, I asked her, what is it about this song that you are choosing for your funeral that you like so much?...she said it's the words and what it means, the sentiment, I just love the words
Oh listen, lord, if you want to know.
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It's the only thing that there's just too little of
No, not just for some - but for everyone

Aunty Corrie was everyone's Favourite Aunty
When I was growing up my brothers Eddie, David and I were allowed to take turns and once a week one of us could go to Aunty Corrie and Uncle Bob's and choose any dinner we liked and Aunty Corrie would cook it for us and boy she was such an awesome cook
She just loved kids, all us kids, because she was just a big kid at heart herself, such a fun loving and happy person always up for a laugh.
When Mark came along she was so playful with him she dressed him in things like a 1 piece off the shoulder Tarzan suit (nowadays it would be called 1/2 a onesie) and me and Anita and Corrina would play lots of games and have heaps of fun together with Aunty Corrie in our school holidays
Some weekends when I stayed over she would put out yummy treats like chips and lollies and I was allowed to stay up late and watch TV like The Ed Sullivan Show and Green Acres
When I was 12ish Corrie got me my 1st little job working at a fair for her boss Hans Klisser where I had to dress up with her in a traditional Dutch costume, Corrie loved teaching me about the Dutch culture and she and Bob were very much involved in The Dutch Drama Club
Aunty Corrie Loved socialising and could sit and talk for hours either in person or on the phone
Without fail every birthday and Christmas I would receive a card from her which simply said I LOVE YOU and I always knew she really meant it; and inside there would be the luckiest scratchies. One of the few things she said to me in her final days was there'll be 1 less Christmas and Birthday card for people to write heh?
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away - but 3 things will last forever, faith, hope and LOVE and the greatest of ALL these is LOVE

Go with love Tante Cor may you rest in peace
