Coral DAY Obituary

DAY, Coral Gaye. Passed away peacefully on 28th January 2025, aged 94 years. Beloved wife of the late John Day, mother and mother in law to Amanda and Phil Hewlett, Jo and Jim (both deceased), Neville (deceased), Henri and Gerhard Egger. Granny to Chris, Geoff and Luisa and Great Granny to Sophia and Oscar. In recognition of Coral's long and fulfilled life, a commemoration will be held at Collingwood Funeral Home on Friday 7th February 2025 at 1pm.

So sorry to read of Coral's passing. As one of many, many student nurses that passed I through Ward 6, Thames Hospital with Sister Day as our Charge nurse, I'd like to say she was a hard taskmaster, but if we met her high standards, she was full of praise and kindness.
I also worked with her on Cancer Society team, and she asked me to call her Coral. It took me a couple of weeks before I could say it!! In this team we were equals and she was a truly lovely colleague xx

We enjoyed many happy days together, playing croquet in Thames , exploring the East Coast, and tramping the old coach trail. We kept in touch with frequent phone calls.
