Connaught POWER Obituary
POWER, Connaught Mary (Connie) (nee Doocey). Of Tauranga and Thames Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, 3 July 2024, at 95 years of age. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Michael, Anne and husband John, and her grandchildren: Sarah, Emma, Jessica and wife Mai. Connie, the eldest of eight siblings, was a source of strength and love to her large extended family and will be deeply missed. Connie led a full life with her husband Graham, enjoying overseas adventures, concert music, and their beautiful garden. It is a great comfort that they are now together again. A service will be celebrated at St Thomas More Church, 17 Gloucester Road, Mt Maunganui Friday, 12th July at 11:00am, followed by a burial at Te Puke Cemetery, 78 Dudley Veroce Drive Te Puke. Connie was one of my host Mum´s during my year as a Rotary exchange student in Thames in 1975.
She and Graham took me into their home as one of their family and our relationship has lasted over the years. I recently got to see them in 2023 which was a special time of reconnection.
She was an inspiration to many, very thoughtful and giving to her family as well as others. I cherish the many memories of her and the family.
