Dearest Colleen, we met at Riverside Playcentre Otahuhu in the mid-1970s and enjoyed an instant friendship. We had wonderful times at Playcentre with our families and we studied to become Playcentre Supervisors along with the late Dot Muffit -The Three Musketeers. We shifted to Howick and you to Pakuranga to North Harbour and to Whangarei but you made sure we always kept in touch. Two years ago you were in Auckland and arranged for us to meet and it was like we had seen each other only the day before. We talked and talked and shared all of the ups and downs over the years. It was so wonderful as long-time friends are really the very best and you were!!!! You gave so unselfishly of your time to so many and I admired your perseverance and calm in everything. You were full of really useful good advice. I told you earlier this year that I had come across photos of you at my 40th 36 years ago and I never did send them to you so I will give them to your family. Goodbye, dear friend.

Condolences to all of Colleen' loved ones. Colleen was my boss at Barnardos and was a huge inspiration and leader. Her knowledge was amazing. I continued on to be a friend when she retired and was saddened to hear this news. May you rest in peace with your beloved John and sister who you lost many years ago to tragic circumstances. Sorry unable to travel the distance to help celebrate your life but will be thinking of you at 10.30. Please advise if the service will be streamed as I would livecto attend vitually
