Colin. You know you were aye favourate of mine. We always gave each other plenty of lip. Always had a good laugh. You treated me like one of your own.
I remember making a pavlova for you. Out of the kindness of my heart. You took one look and said it´s a flop. lol. But you loved it.
Will miss the good days.

Uncle Colin you were and always will be one of most hilarious people I ever had the privilege to know. That laugh, that grin, that wicked sense of humour, just epic. You were a total legend, and I only have the most awesome memories of you. I´ll never forget the time you outran me at Oakura when I was 15. I was furious, you couldn´t stop laughing and then you threw me in the sea, haha! Also, I´m sure I´ll never taste home brew quite like yours and neither has anyone else.
To the man who never got wet putting the boat in - ever, remarkable skills, I thank you for being unapologetically you. Go well you mad bugger.
My thoughts are with Deborah, Donna, Robyn and Fraser, Anna and Sid xxx

Rest in peace Uncle Colin. Thank you for all the wonderful memories at the bach and for always welcoming us when we were there. Thanks for taking me water skiing, pipi picking, fishing and so much more. I loved your sense of humour and fun. I learned quickly to think carefully about playing a joke on you as you would get me back ten fold- you could out run anyone back in the day if they tried to sabotage your home brew!
Thanks for always driving carefully when I was water skiing behind your boat- that´s how I knew you cared even if you wouldn´t admit it!
Rest in peace Colin- and may you continue to keep your feet dry.
Have a beer with dad. He will be waiting.
Love Stacey

Oh my gosh Colin. Danny and I had such fun farming for you ,milking cows ect ect. Your crazy Antics and drinking episodes at The Whangarei hotel and Poriti Pub with Brian Lynsey and Ron Burgess just to name a couple. Many a time Danny was to pissed to milk the cows are your adventures so I had to milk alone .lol.A few Times Danny had to go and look for you because some where between Poriti Pub and home to farm you got lost or fell asleep Jean would ring Danny and say can you go and find him he rang a while ago and said he was on his way one night you were heading to Dargaville.your were such a Character Colin and we loved you Dearly. Jean was a god send to me at 18 leaving Auckland to go milking cows on there farm, Jean taught me how to garden, bottle fruit , make jam.she was a fantastic patient loving lady . Danny and I were only 18 when we left the big smoke to Colin´s and jeans Farm, we had to pretend we were married to get the position , couple years later when we got married we invited him, Colin said you wouldn´t of got the job if I´d known you were shacking up,lol That was Colin you got what you saw , he was up front and spoke his mind , which was fantastic. Some of the farming practising wouldn´t stand today but that was how it was then, my regards and love to all the family . Sharon Abernethy.xx
