Such very sad news. Thinking of you all. Fun memories when the kids were all young. Met up with Colin and Fiona more recently, planned a get together, we should never let life get in our way. Lost opportunities.
Love to you all. Marg and Jim Matchett.

So many happy memories of Colin when he lived in Douglas Road.
Lighting lanterns on his deck and watching them float away, heading for the airport! Firing potatoes off the deck with his Spud gun. Many happy hours spent by his outdoor fire with a few drinks and lots of humour. The late Jones(dog) being chased down the road by our lamb. Those are just a few of our happy memories of Colin.
Our thoughts are with Colin's family and friends at this sad time.
Rest in Peace Colin

Colin was a workmate of many at NZSteel for many years
Having had roles from supervisor and then back on the floor with the boys for a time
Glad Colin retired when he did to spend some quality time
Bit of a shock to those of us that remember him
Too soon to not have our cobber anymore
Safe journey Brother

Smith, Colin. Dearly loved brother-in-law of Michael and Debbie. Sadly missed by us both. We will always cherish our conversations and the many "world problems" we solved together over the years. A wonderful man gone too soon.

Smith, Colin. We made the best memories together my love. My family loved you so much for making me so happy. We were Bert and Doris on our travels. We were a team. You went too soon, this was not part of our plan. But you are at peace now and you will be missed so much. The pain is unbearable. Your death leaves a heartache no one can heal and our love leaves a memory no one can steal. Fiona, Freddie, Sheena, Garth, Kadee, Cara, Natalie, Adam and Jesse.
