I first met Colin in the late 90's at a dinner in Singapore. I walked in an hour late explaining that as I was driving it had taken me an hour to find the very famous Boat Quay. Colin roared with laughter, and it was a laugh that I would come to hear many, many times in the following years around the world. Colin was generous, supportive, and entrepreneurial - both as a businessman and an individual. It was a pleasure to get to know him.

Sitting in a restaurant by the beach in Singapore eating huge chilli crab and drinking big jugs of beer with Brian and Glenn Kane. He was kind, generous and had enormous amounts of an electric energy that I´ve never seen since from anyone. I remember him well.

Dear Glenda,
I am so sorry to hear about Colin passing away. I've just heard the news today and wanted to send you and the family my condolences.
Having started out as a work colleague at the Diary Board in the 90's, to getting to know you both as friends, I know how much he will be missed. He was a complete character and made such an impact on all the people around him with his wit and humour. Jonsey was one of a kind!!
You're in my thoughts.

I looked at you that day and thought there was a huge beautiful kindness about you, and how lucky we all were , to know you, I was going to tell you , but never got the chance, nevermind i have said it now and bless you so much, If you meet my parents Henry and Betty and my two brothers Ray and Mervyn, say a big hello from me, thank you Colin for your kindness and so so many laughs....... Hi Glenda. Real sorry to hear that Colin has passed away and our thoughts are with you and the family in this difficult time. We´ll always have fond memories of catching up with you guys down in Ohakune especially when Colin would pop over while we were building and park himself on a saw stool with a drink in his hand and watch progress with the occasional INTERESTING comment or observation. Always in our thoughts. Mark and Louise

Colin was a work colleague at NZDB. He was a unique character, stimulating to be with. He was committed to his work and was an invaluable servant of the dairy industry. It was a pleasure catching up with Colin at the annual Dairy Board lunch. He will be sadly missed but the precious memories will live on. Go well Colin
