Colin HARVEY Obituary

Dear Mary and family,
We were so shocked to hear of Colin's death.
I had the good fortune of playing several games of golf with Colin and as a fellow farmer we had a few things in common.
Colin still had a lot to offer both family and the business world that he was still actively involved in.
Our thoughts and prayers and love are with you Mary, and your family at this very sad time.

Mary and family:
there are remarkably few people i've met who have made a significant difference in the world around them.
Colin was one; you were remarkably lucky to have him as a husband and father.
Colin will be well and fondly remembered

Colin and his animal health company ANCARE were legends to those of us Vets working in the 1980s and 1990s. Colin chose to team up with Vets and took on the big International drench companies and won. But not only was Colin an incredible businessman, he also enjoyed and shared his success and treated his clients as friends. The ANCARE rugby trips were incredible fun experiences that bonded together a whole generation of us and Colin and his team. Colin it was a privilege to know you, RIP.

It is with great sadness to read of Colin´s passing. He was a true leader in the industry, for the innovation he brought to it and his advocacy for animal health. Our sincere condolences to Mary and family. Regards, The New Zealand Merino Co.

I am not sure you will remember Pierre Baychelier; I was working at ANCARE Australia and met you several times, when you attended various work functions with Colin. Brenton and I were very saddened indeed to hear of Colin's passing. He was an extraordinary person to work for. We are thinking of you, and of the rest of your family.

I felt very sad when I heard of Colin's sudden passing. I'm sure it must have been a huge shock to you all and my thoughts and feelings go out to you all.
My contact with Colin was through the EDHL/EditID project where I was a fellow Board member. Despite the very significant challenges that this project posed Colin was always very supportive and I really admired the calm way in which he managed the situation. He had a lovely way of working, something I know was appreciated by all involved at the time.

Our sincere sympathy to all of the Harvey family on the passing of Colin. We were next door neighbours of Colin's late mother Doreen and know the family well.

A great man and great neighbour with a good sense of humour and who achieved so much.. We have nice memories . A recall is Colin and Bob attending night classes at Northcote College to each build a sunburst yacht.

Dear Mary,
I wish to express my deepest condolences to the Harvey family. Very sad to learn of his tragic accident, and yet it showed that he never missed a thing (business or otherwise) or activity or enjoyment in nature. Dear Mary and family. Deborah and I were saddened and shocked by the very sudden loss of Colin. If anybody was living the active retirement it was him. I had great admiration for the fact that rather than slowing down he seemed to be speeding up such was his involvement with so many businesses and industry groups. On a personal level Colin has always been an inspiration and I shall be forever grateful for his kindness and mentorship over my years at Ancare.

My deepest sympathy to Colin's family at this tragic time. Colin and I shared the same class through Opunake High School, and I always remember him as a very decent guy. Whether it was the School Steeplechase, being a Prefect,or participating in the Air Training Corp, Colin was a great chap to have as a school mate. Like many others I have fond memories of Colin, and are saddened to hear of his loss.

To our dearest friend Mary and family Brett, Damian, our God-daughter Nicky and Gerard and of course all those beautiful grandchildren Colin was so extremely proud of,

We are in total shock having just learned of Colins death. Our love thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad difficult time.

Our memories go a long way back to fun and laughter, with some tears over the years Mary. Will always remember Colin as the inspiring family motivated man, always welcoming and living life to the full.

A long time without contact but a man of such character remains long in one´s memory. First knew Colin in his Wellcome days and thereafter interacted intermittently as he advanced along his path of innovative contribution to NZ Agriculture. Mary, both you and Colin were such special people in our days of managing the Ancare Australia business. Your partnership with Colin in treating your employees with respect and dignity was a great example of simple business management practice. Tragic News hearing of Colins passing condolences to Mary and the family

Colin recently joined our project team at Otago Innovation/University of Otago for another animal healthcare adventure. He joined, because he said he enjoyed it. We just written a Business Case together and were to present it tomorrow. So hard to believe he's gone!
What a huge gap he leaves behind for everyone who knew him! The entire project team, but also my colleagues at Otago Innovation who knew him, are quite shocked and saddened.

I was Colin's General Manager of his technology company EDiT iD Limited. I know all the staff who had any contact with Colin would wish me to express our condolences to Mary and his family. He was so well respected and will be missed by the business community.

What an absolute privilege for me to be under such a Maestro, A good man, an Innovator, a Giver.
To Mary, I called Barry Shaw today nearly into his nineties he is in Sommerset on Cavendish rest home here in Christchurch. Still sharp and talked of your Colin like a son. He made a comment to me that i hope you will except for it's authenticity. He said he once spoke to you and said behind a successful Man there is always a successful Woman just lovely. He is not computer savy hence taken licence here on his behalf.

I was lucky enough to be part of the team at Country TV for a couple of years and loved my times with Colin. You'd go into his office to maybe check on one thing and end up talking with him for ages! I was always impressed by his huge interests and diverse knowledge about all sorts of things -and his real enthusiasm for new ideas and ways of thinking. He will be so missed by colleagues and friends. My heart especially goes out to Nicky and all the family- I can't imagine how painful and sad this time is for you all.
