I am so sorry to hear about Claire's passing. She was such a lovely woman and a truly inspiring leader in the field. I first met her in 2012 when I saw her presentation on obstetric haemorrhage, which had me spellbound. It was an incredible lecture (she was always such a charismatic presenter).

After the lecture, I plucked up the courage to chat with her and it was such an enriching moment in my research career. She was so lovely, listening to my ideas and offering her advice and expertise! We went on to collaborate on some research projects. I was always excited when I heard she was attending a conference or giving a lecture and I would make sure to attend her lecture.
What a massive loss for the field of obstetric haematology. My sincerest condolences to her family and friends.

I was very affected when finding out about Claire's passing. She was the reason I survived the aftermath of my first pregnancy, and secondly, the reason I eventually had a second child. Her compassion and empathy while giving her absolute best advice will never be forgotten by myself or my family.

I will never forget your laugh or the way your smile lit up a room. When I was a very junior doctor with imposter syndrome your encouragement and wisdom was invaluable. I will never forget your incredible mind and gargantuan heart. You have left us too soon but your splendour will live on in your wonderful whanau. Words are not enough to express your loss. Arohanui to Claire´s loved ones - how fortunate you are to have been loved by such a magnificent person.

I am terribly sadden to hear the news of Claire's passing. Claire treated me during my pregnancy with my first (and only) baby. During my time in hospital, surgeries and treatment for the months that followed Claire was the most amazing support during the toughest year of my life. She truly was a power house and one of a kind who always went above and beyond. My thoughts and love go to her family.

I will be forever grateful for the advice and care from Doctor Claire. She gave me hope that with my blood clotting condition I could have a baby. She then helped me through the IVF process and the inevitable clot in my first trimester. My beautiful daughter is almost 2 and has fiery red hair! Thank you Doctor Claire for giving me my daughter, and on behalf of my family condolences to your family and friends.

Claire, I feel enormously privileged to have known and worked with you. Truly a Rockstar clinician. You were always so
generous in sharing your time and expertise. You brought great energy and inspired others and you looked for solutions rather than accepted barriers.

You knew how important it was to establish cross professional relationships - thank you for the times you came to OR to help out with a bleed or were available at the end of the phone. Also all that you did to collaborate on an Iron in Pregnancy protocol and the beginning of the HOW Collaborative amongst many other massive contributions.

You were such a strong advocate for excellent patient care and the evidence base, and your talks were always informative and entertaining.

I'm truly saddened by your loss and will miss you greatly.

My deepest and heartfelt sympathy to your family.

Wonderful beautiful Claire.
I had the privilege to be a haemotology patient of yours since 2016.
You literally saved my life.
I wasn't doing well and asked if I may not make it, you looked me in the eyes and said not on my watch and you meant it.

You continued to be my power house right up to my plan for my last surgery in september
, always there any time I ever needed you, as you said even for a chat.
I quite simply will never never forget you.
You most amazing lady.
Xx

Lisa Thompson.

My heartfelt condolences to Claire's family. Claire was a joyful and wonderful person. She was a great speaker and teacher in the Asia Pacific Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (APSTH) meetings. She gave fiery lectures and would always have pictures of her beautiful family in her presentations. I remember she loved trying out new dishes and would always make it a point to enroll in cooking classes in the various countries she visited. She will be dearly missed by all as well as in the upcoming APSTH2023 to be held in Kuching, Sarawak.
Goodbye Claire. God bless.

I knew Claire through our shared passion for women's issues in thrombosis. I considered her a friend, as well as a colleague (I think most of us who worked with her felt the same). This a hard loss. She was such a vibrant, fierce (overused word in general but not in Claire's case), smart, kind, and brave woman. She has always been one of my favorite people. The world is much smaller and dimmer without her and I miss her already. Condolences to her family and close friends.
