Claire joined our Reading Recovery Tutor team as a newly trained tutor in 1992. She brought enthusiasm, vitality and cheerfulness with her. Claire's professionalism and commitment to Reading Recovery enhanced our team and the implementation of Reading Recovery in the Wellington district.

It was our custom to make coffee at the centre before starting the day. Claire had noticed that I liked to warm my cup before pouring the coffee. Most mornings she would arrive before me, have her coffee and be on her way. When I arrived my cup would be warming on the bench waiting for me. A good friend and a kind heart.

I had the privilege to work with Claire on the 10th International Reading Recovery Institute 2019. She was so dedicated to making the event the great success that it was. Claire was also so bright and positive. Thank you for the memories.
