Mr Wilson-Jennings was an awesome teacher. I still remember something he said nothing to do with curriculum, but his own growth when he decided to start running again. He started only able to do less than 400m, but he kept going, and built up this capacity, to much further. And I still remember this. 1974-78 Putaruru High School, we had fab teachers.

I was in Chris's first Lower 6th form biology class when he arrived from UK in 1963 at Putaruru High School. He taught well, and I continued on in a research career in applied plant biology. I remember him as a good and compassionate teacher with a continuing interest in my career path.
