I couldn't believe it when I saw the Facebook post that Chris had passed away. Far too young.
My sympathy goes out to his partner Tracy and Chris's family.
I have fond memories of Chris when he was GM and my manager at The Timaru Herald. He was a great person to work for and I always enjoyed his company socially and professionally at the many Fairfax conferences and meetings that we attended over the years we were associated.
He was a good, kind man.
He will be sadly missed by his many friends and work colleagues.

It is a huge shock to hear of Jagies sudden passing. I have fond memories of our friendship and time with the family whilst Chris and the family were in Timaru. Chris was a great bloke who wore his heart on his sleeve a team player and always positive.
The President's grade rugby team was a tight and fun loving unit that Chris was a leading part of, contributing at many levels. Fun times and fond memories. You will be missed by all, Rest In Peace, mate!!

I worked as part of Chris' leadership team at the Press from 2005 to 2009. Chris was great to work with and a genuinely good man. Fair and open minded and I am very sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family. He will be missed.

My condolences to Tracy and all of Chris' family and friends.
I remember Chris as a good team mate at Hamilton Marist, a colleague in the sport of touch and the life of the party with his humour and guitar playing.
R.I.P. Chris
