I'm deeply saddened and shocked to hear that Chris has passed. Chris was very kind, wise counsel, always had time for a coffee or to chat and was someone whom I held in the utmost respect. The world needs more people like Chris, and he is going to be greatly missed. My heart goes to Chris's family and my most sincere regards to Chris's wife Christine.

I have known Chris since 1983 and I am in complete shock. Chris has been a friend, mentor, sounding board and most of all a very dear friend. I will miss our telephone conversations - his wise words and complete honesty. Sincerest regards to yourself Christine and your family. Linda Holman

I met 'Hort' in 1986 when I started at Hendry Hay McIntosh, and have worked with him on and off for decades. I have always and will always admire him and think of him with affection, and regard him as an example of true nobility.

it is with great sadness I hear of Chris' passing. I met Chris at Hendry Hay 20 years ago when I was just starting my career. He will always hold a special place in my heart as the person that showed me how important it is to be kind - to everyone. I think and talk of him often and will continue to do so. Best wishes to Christine and the rest of the Horton family.
