Christopher COON Obituary

COON, Christopher Laurence. In loving memory of Chris, aged 78, who passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his beloved family, after a long illness. Chris was the much loved husband of Yvonne, and adored father of Sally, Tash, Rob and Andy. He was the proud grandfather of Max, Theo, Oliver, Zach, Poppy, Emily, Sebastian and a much looked forward to wee girl to be born soon. He was the loved brother of Melvyn, Richard and the late Pip, and brother in law of Jane C, Pam and Geoff, John and Wiwan, Jane R, Wendy and the late Greg, and uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He was the loved father in law of Guy, Jonathan, Andrea and Rhema. Chris was a brilliant actuary and entrepreneur, who is well known as co-founder of Sovereign, Seniors Money and Partners Life. With his sons, he established Evolution Yachts in Fremantle and Cove in Auckland. He was well known for his calm, kind, gentle, generous and friendly nature, as well as for his quick wit, love of family, bridge and boating. A ceremony will be held on Friday 25th of March at 2.30pm at Dil's Funeral Sevices, 185 Schnapper Rock Road, Albany. Covid restrictions require vaccine passes and limit numbers to 100. In lieu of flowers, donations to St John Ambulance or North Shore Hospice would be much appreciated, as both have been extremely kind and supportive many times, throughout Chris's illness.

COON, Chris. Chris sadly passed away on Sunday the 13th of March. He was a much loved brother- in-law of Geoff and Pam, John, Wendy and Greg (deceased) and Jane. Dearly loved by nieces and nephews Nicole, Sarah, Abbie, Katie, Rosie, Sam and Jack. He will be remebered by us all for his loving kindness and generosity. Heart felt thanks to specialist doctor Martin Phillips for his many visits to Chris at home, to G.P Vanessa Fardon for her kind care and to the amazing Hospice care. You will be greatly missed Chris and will live on in our hearts forever.
