I have only just learned of the passing of Aunty Charlotte. From my earliest memory of you driving up in your big car, only to learn many years later you still had that big car, to the more recent visits to you in Tauranga, you were such a majestic woman but ever so humble. So devoted to your God, your children, and your family. Never a woman to pass judgment on a soul, always keeping thing simple and easy for everyone. You were loved by so many! Rest in peace and love now, finally reunited with your dear husband whom you often told us stories about. Great Aunty Charlotte you visited my mum and dad often on your trips to Auckland, you always had such a beautiful smile, and I always thought you was a Samoan Princess, my sister a I would sit there in awe as you laughed away, and told stories and played your ukelele, with my parents. Then you would get in your big car and drive away, you looked so tiny behind the wheel. Tofa soifua Aunty Charlotte, it was an honour to know you xxx

I always called you Mrs Frankovich despite getting many a growling from you for doing so.......a couple of years ago - might have been longer - I chanced to meet you at one of our local Marae and from there I set up a time to come take you out for lunch - basically it was my way of thanking you for what you did for me - just so your family knows - your mum, nanny, big nanny - was one of the teachers that had a major impact on my life - I am from Matakana Island and Mrs Frankovich used to come to the Island and teach typing and shorthand - she was an inspiration to me and probably to a number of the whnau over here on Matakana. The day we went to lunch I was able to thank her personally - very humble lady you were - glad too that I was able to apologise for those times I made you mad.......E te whaea - haere atu ra ki nga ringa a to tatou matua tipuna. Fly free beautiful lady........
