So sad to hear of Charles passing, I wished I was able to attend funeral, but I was away hunting at the time. So many good memories with Charles and family on the tennis court, tennis holidays and good banter. His contribution to Manurewa tennis, Netball and the community was tremendous and there are many who should be grateful for what he has done. RIP Charles and hopefully you'll improve that backhand up in the clouds.

Charles was more than a friend - he and Diane and the rest of the family became whanau. He was the gold standard in what a father, brother, husband and friend was. Charles had a huge community presence not only in Rewa Rugby but over the last 10 or so years at Manurewa Tennis. My life and that of my son's has been truly blessed by having Charlie in our lives.

Aunty Diane, Kevin, Donna and family - I was so very sorry to hear of uncle Charlie´s passing. I have such lovely childhood memories or time with your family and uncle Charlie´s cheeky smile and laugh will live on in those memories. My thoughts and love are with you today. I´m so sorry I can´t be at the service due to weather issues here in Christchurch cancelling my flights. I will be thinking of you all this afternoon. Just imagine the welcoming committee he was greeted by...

Charlie, my Young/Old mate from Tuakau days. Then our years at Pukekohe High - 1960 - 64. And the years thereafter. You were always a smiling and genuinely friendly guy. I had not seen you for several years and VERRY sorry to read of your passing too young and too soon. Kindest thoughts ALWAYS - Brian Walker - ex Whangarata.
