Charles WILSON Obituary

AUT Millennium will always treasure Charles' support of our community facility - he was a strong advocate for the work we do and we always loved his presence around the facility with his lovely smile and manner.

Megan, Kylie & Shan. So sorry we couldnt be there with you today, Covid stopped that, but we were able to watch proceedings on the link. So many memories of Charles, Pauline, and you Megan and Kylie, thru Carmel, Rotary and Waihi. Both such lovely people. You all did them proud today. Love, virginia and Mike Bitossi

Sonya and I were very sad to hear of the passing of Charles and very apologetic that we were unable to make the funeral. We both have very fond memories of Charles over many years.

Dear Shan, Kylie and Megan. Condolences to you and your families on the passing of your Dad. Pauline and Charles were such special people. We were so blessed to spend time with them when they were up visiting Mum and Dad. They always brought with them warm hugs, loving friendship and news of your growing families. To the Wilson girls and family, my heart felt sorrow for the passing of your dad, and previously your mum. I will always remember your mum and dad as extremely friendly, welcoming, cuddly, and loving people. As an adult I enjoyed several visits with them and I was always uplifted. As a child I used to love visiting you guys, again because of the warm welcome that radiated from your parents. So I am sending you love and support from the deep South. I met Charles through Rotary International, where I was elected district governor in 2009. I live in New Caledonia and I had to visit the clubs near Auckland. With Pauline, Charles has often hosted my wife and I. He has given me excellent advice on how to carry out my duties. I remember long evenings in front of a fireplace, we exchanged on many subjects, it was dense, interesting, great. Thank you very much, Charles, for your friendship, your sense of duty and your wise counsel. We are very sad but we will not forget you.

So sad to learn of Charles' passing. He was a very close friend of my late brother (Ian Shrimski) and I first met him when I was a young kid. Charles was an influential at Takapuna Grammar School and certainly helped to guide me in the right direction. What a sad loss.

In memory of dear beloved Charles, who meant so much to Luc and I. Charles and Pauline will now be at rest together and we have such fond memories of our time with them. Sending all our love and thoughts through this sad time to Shan, Kylie and Megan and to all the family. Much love, Louise Dann
