I talk about Ray often and did the other day ...
My Ray story is , I was a 21 year old back backer from Canada , a son of a mate of Ray (my Dad Frank Walis) whom he hadn´t seen in decades . Dad tells Ray his son is heading to NZ, and what does he do ?

Ray picks me up at the airport , hands me the keys to his car (!), and lets me stay at his beatiful home in Caster Bay

Ray for me epitomizes hospitality and kindness. Simply the greatest guy

To June and family please know that the Wallis´s in Canada are sending all our love and condolences for your loss.

Maybe this is a cliche but feel really blessed to have known Ray and call him my mate also ! What a guy
