Charles SHARP Obituary

SHARP, Charles Ernest (Service no. 157688, F/Lt., RAF, WWII). Suddenly on 11th October 2015, at home; aged 95. Dearly loved husband of the late Mary. Loved and caring father and father-in-law of Rosemary and Garth. Dear friend to many. A service will be held in the chapel of Morris and Morris Funerals (entrance 17 Western Hills Drive) Whau Valley, Whangarei, at 10:30am, on Friday, 16th October 2015, followed by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations (in memory of Charles) to North Haven Hospice, PO Box 7050, Tikipunga, Whangarei 0144, would be appreciated. I worked with Charles for many years at Caterpillar Tractor Co. in the late 60's and early 70's. He was always extremely kind and thoughtful and a true gentleman. He contacted me from New Zealand after hearing that my husband, also a previous colleague of his, had died at a young age. We have exchanged Christmas cards and letters every year since then and it was only when I tried to contact him this year that I realised something must be wrong and found this obituary. I would like to extend my sympathies to his family on his loss, and also on the loss of Mary. Remembered with great fondness - they will be much missed.
